Late entry ?
I'm thinking of joining, I finish work for Christmas tomorrow and need something to occupy my time, not sure what to do yet
or if I can come up with something in the time but I will give it a go.

Re: Late entry ?
There's no need to extend, I have made a start and should be OK, I have decided to go with flat colours and use lightsources instead of full textures to keep within the timescale, not thought of a name yet.

Re: Late entry ?
Welcome to the contest
I actually quite like flat shading with simple colours, makes it very arcade like if done properly. Looking at your screenshot, if you are able to, try tesselating your models. That will make your lighting smoother.
Good luck with your entry.

Re: Late entry ?
The walls and blocks aren't models, they are flat panels with single coloured .VGR faces so I won't be doing any materials ops or tesselating, I may polish it a bit after the comp but for now flat colours will do, they actually look better in the game than in the screenshots.
Good luck to you guys too and everyone else in the comp.

Re: Late entry ?
I'm not sure I will get finished in time now, I had a flood at home today and have a lot of sorting out to do

Re: Late entry ?
I'm sorry to hear about the flooding. Don't worry though. Me and Namo had to drop out of the contest. Namo because of personal issues, and me because I figured out that the game I was making deserved more time. If you want to, I will move your topic to the WIP forum.

Re: Late entry ?
I will stick with it for now and try to get it finished in time. The flood wasn't as bad as first thought, a frozen pipe burst in my garage and luckily it has a separate cut off from the main house supply. Sorry to hear you and Namo pulled out.

Re: Late entry ?
Not really. In fact I believe my move to quit will make my game even better. I dunno if you have seen my 3D model for my game. I am training alot in 3D, thus I will be able to improve the model.
