Free size? You really have no idea how much this would cost me
Besides, what is your reason for that? Are you planning to create a game of let-us-say 100 MB?

Easter Compo 2006 - 67 submitted entries
Total Pack Compo 2006 - 39 submitted entries
Caiman Car Compo 2007 - 10 submitted entries
Ciaman Croco Compo 2008 - 5 submitted entries

It seems that with each competition, there are not even half as many entries as the previous one :(

Then after about 2-3 more contests Rudy will be allowed to stop, with noone making an entry
If seriously - I don't see even half of good ol' creators now in forum (where did MaRo or Agizzer go?), and I guess new generation don't grow so fast :hmm:

Do you have any notion of how long a game like that takes to create? How long it takes to bug test AI?

There is a reason that these games are released and then updated over many years... and it's not because the the developers didn't think of all the updates from the beginning. :)

I think a full-fledged RPG would be a bit much for a several-month long competition... unless the developers already had an engine, arts resources, and plot-line ready to go.

One man can create a simple short RPG in two or three monts. A team of 7-10 people can do much better game in the same time. But to make something like Diablo or similar you need at least 50 people and year or two.

But I didn't catch what Nicholas meant by saying: " if someone makes an rpg he wil not be able to make it." :hmm:

For contests you should always pay attention to deadlines, your skills and similar stuff, even before you start creating.
It's important (but also quite difficult) to evaluate your project while it's still in your mind - will you finish it in time and will you be able to make it as you imagine.

I just released the new version of my game. :D

Rudy: I like the idea of the contest, I like casino games quite a lot but most of them are paid or make us use real money which I don't like.
One of my suggestions would be to leave that banner on the main page like you did for the previous contests, I think that's one of the main reasons why there was much more entries in the last contests.
Another thing would be to make the contest not as long, instead of a almost a entire year I think the contest should last about 4 months. That gives us more than enough time to craft our games imo. :D

Well as this contest would have more strict theme, and many casino games don't require very advanced engine (AI in fruit machine?), there isn't needed very long deadline (long, right? unusable phrases in English sometimes confuses me :D ).

Uhh... I hate anything connected with casino. In my language these machines are called "one-handed thiefs". It's just my opinion, no offense :^:

I need casino games, but NOT to promote real casino games. I mean I want freeware games (with no real money of course) that can give you the feeling of the real machines. You will get the feeling that you can win, but it almost always ends on losing a lot of money. At this manner I hope people (especially kids) will realize that it is dangerous to play with real money. ;)

@Genetix: 4 months is fine for me ;)
