Spud's Quest

Postby luvyall » Sat Nov 03, 2012 8:06 pm

This game looks great and so much fun . . . similar style to Dizzy and I loved that game! I would love to see this game finished . . . but it needs our help! A small pledge could make this happen and we could own a copy of this fun game. Please help to make it happen by a pledge or spreading the word. Thank you!

"A puzzle adventure inspired by the games of yesteryear.
Spud's Quest is a puzzle adventure game for Windows inspired by many of the 8bit & 16bit games I grew up with.

It started off as a homage to the once popular Dizzy series, but over time elements from other games found their way in- most notably The Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Tomb Raider.
Like the Dizzy games, it's a flip screen adventure in which you use items to progress (eg. use a hatchet found in a woodcutters lodge on a tree elsewhere to form a bridge over a swamp). Kind of like a point and click adventure game, without the point and click. It has powerups & abilities like Metroid, and the Zelda/Tomb Raider inspirations come in the games four dungeons.

Players take on the role of Spud and his friend Prince Charming, who has been cursed by an evil wizard and turned into a frog. The pair set on a journey to uncover four ancient stones that have the power to banish the evil and remove the curse."

Re: Spud's Quest Successful Funding

Postby luvyall » Wed Dec 19, 2012 8:09 pm

Spud's Quest was successfully funded on Kickstarter but failed to reach the stretch goal that would have been used to make an extra temple. However if anyone would still like to own this game, it is now on Indiegogo to help fund the extra world. A pledge of only $8 is enough to get a digital download. Looking forward to getting my copy in March 2013. :)
You can download Spud's quest demo here http://spudsquest.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/the-demo.html
